The 6th of 7 tournaments this year took place on Saturday with 28 teams participating in the 2011 DTS Maerua Superspar Volleyball Series in hot weather conditions. 5 Ladies 2-a-side teams took part and they played in a round robin format to determine the best team. In a very high level of Beach Volleyball, Wiebke Hoeritzauer/Antje Kesselmann lost to no 1 team Julia Laggner/Lizette Roettcher in a very close three set match with 2-1 (21-12, 15-21,15-8), before they were facing last tournaments winners Brigitte Looser/Karin Curschmann, who lost their first match in 3 sets to Simone von Wietersheim/Anita Kinder.... The FIVB World Junior Beach Volleyball Championships are drawing near in the Canadian town of Halifax, attracting the top junior athletes from across the world. From the 31st of August until the 4th of September the young Beach Volleyball generation will gather on the courts and this time the Namibian flag will also be hoisted in the opening ceremony as two young athletes from the country enter the competition: 18-Year-old Julia Laggner and Corinna Wahl, will be representing Namibia and Africa on the Canadian beach sand....
